about

This was written and arranged by my dear friend, Greg Jones. We produced this take together. When Greg died by his own hand two years later, it occurred to me that this was his goodbye note.

lyrics

I'll Be In The Mirror

You didn't see it coming
So how were you to know
That there would be a "situation-" (Oh, please, don't go)

How could you turn your face away-
Study some picture on the wall?
Tryin to find your way back-
Back to the way it was before

"I'll be home some day-
You won't be on your own-
I'll be in the mirror-
You won't be alone."

Down the center of the railway
And you're singin in your sleep
Now you're driving on the sidewalk
Strolling on the 405
Down the center of the railway
And you're singin in your sleep
Tryin to find your way back-
Back to the way it was before

And when the moon arises
You park up high on the hill
And the city spreads beneath you
Like a carpet made of pearls...

And you don't want to know the reason
You just want it to go on and on and on...

(repeat and fade)
